Dental Implant Crowns
A dental crown is often referred to as a cap. Crowns are used when a tooth is too compromised by decay to restore with a filling. Once the decay is removed, the crown fits snugly over the remaining tooth structure returning its shape and size. A crown can be used to protect a weak tooth, or to restore a tooth that has already been broken. Crowns are also an excellent option to cover discolored or badly shaped teeth.
Crown and Bridge
A missing tooth can have many effects on your smile from health impacts to self-consciousness. Lakefront Dental Spa may use a natural looking bridge to replace the gap in your smile. This common procedure bridges the space where one or more teeth were missing. Also called a fixed partial denture, crown and bridgework helps to reduce the stress on your bite and stops adjacent teeth from shifting.
Lakefront Dental Spa will use crowns to anchor the immediate surrounding teeth. The replacement bridge then attaches with the crowns to create a strong restoration. The materials used for restoring your smile can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. You may have additional options for replacing one or more missing teeth, such as dentures or dental implants.
Dentures & Partials
Partial and full dentures are recommended for those patients who have more extensive tooth loss. Partial dentures are a less costly and quicker treatment option than implants and fixed bridges. A partial denture can replace all the missing teeth in an arch with one prosthetic appliance, whereas that same patient who has multiple missing teeth might otherwise need multiple implants and fixed bridges to restore their mouth back to a full complement of teeth. Partials fill the gaps between teeth, and are held in position by clear or metal clasps connected to healthy teeth. Full dentures are made with a gum colored base supporting a full row of replacement teeth. The denture is held in position by natural suction between the base and gums.
Dentures that are made with the aid of technology. Dentures are designed using high-tech software and dentures are fabricated from premium materials that allow for a customized fit with fewer dental appointments required.
